|
History of the Organisation:
Has anyone seen love? Tasted sacrifice? Touched mercy? These are some of the babble of the modernized word. A visit to the Navajeevan Ashram, Thiruchanoor, Tirupati (Andrapradesh) where tenderness of human heart and dynamism of divine life fuse, we inhale a breath of fresh air of new life.
|
The starting of the Ashram was inspired by an incident in the life of Swamy Sridhar Acharya, the founder of this noble organization. Let Swamy.Sridhar Acharya himself relate those matter. |
“I was working in the Indian Army in Kashmir, during 1976, when I chanced to see a solar eclipse with my naked Eyes. This resulted in loss of vision. The combination of prayers, efforts from military doctors and above all the providence, I got my sight back. This experience of temporary darkness opened my inner eyes when I took an oath on the banks of River Sindhu, that I will dedicate my life towards helping people who are visually handicapped. |
I obtained blessings from my Guru HH Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Swamy of Sri Kanchi Shankara Matham and Holy Mother Theresa. |
On October 2nd 1979(Gandhi jayanthi day), I established “Navajeevan Blind Relief Center” in Kothapeta village near Tirupati, with some financial support from Army Officers and Soldiers and also my Family Members. It is heart warming to see the current state of the organization with the help and support of countless people who support both financially and as volunteers”. |
The humanness that looks upon the bitter tears and painful heart-throbs of the most neglected section of the society, as worth staking all ones time energy for that is the impulse which has brought Navajeevan into existence and keeps its wheels moving. |
